Peterson Okpoyi

Adikwu Peterson Okopi popularly known as Peterson Okopi (born 8 August 1997) is a Nigerian songwriter and gospel singer. He was signed to “TWC Records”, a Nigerian record label in 2020. He gained popularity with the single “Osuba”. In 2021, he won the “Discovery Of The Year Gospel Artist In Africa”, CLIMA Africa Awards. In 2022, he also won the “Africa Male Gospel Artist of The Year”.

Peterson Okopi was born on 8 August 1997 into a family of six in Lagos State, Nigeria. He hails from Otukpo Local Government Area, Benue State. After completing his primary and secondary education at the Nigerian Airforce Primary and Secondary School in Lagos, he continued his educational journey at Yaba College of Technology in Lagos. There, he got a Diploma in English Language.

Peterson was raised in a family with musical background which made him begin singing at a young age. At 7, he had already started serving as a soloist in his church choir. In 2015, he was the third runner up of the Destiny Child Talent Hunt, Season 3.

He officially began his music career in 2018 with the debut of his first single “Amazing God”. He followed it up with his second single “Baba” in 2019. A year after, in 2020, he was signed to “TWC Records” where he released his third single “Up to Something”.

In 2021, he debuted his first album “Osuba”. His second album “Victory Dance” which comprised 19 tracks was released in 2023.
